About me

I am a professional artist and community organizer born and raised in Mexico City, residing in the Bay Area since 1991.

I have taught art for many years to all ages. I paint, illustrate books, lead community murals, and make art installations.

My proudest moment is finishing a 750 sq. ft. mosaic mural made with the help of over 700 community members, of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds during the pandemic. We made mosaic animals and plants of California to celebrate its nature.

I have illustrated five award-winning multicultural children’s books and have developed multicultural art-teaching curriculum. I have taught how to write and illustrate children’s books. I have visited many schools to present my work as an artist and book maker.

I am fluent in English, Spanish and Italian. I have two daughters and love traveling with my husband.
